Description & Requirements

At Bloomberg, our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock - from around the world. In Data, we're responsible for delivering this data, news, and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately.

The Role:

The Content Acquisition team (CA) is an integral part of the Data department. We are responsible for partnering with the most critical content providers across the market data industry to acquire content that enables our customers to make fast and inquisitive investment decisions. Our Relationship Managers lead the sourcing, negotiation, acquisition and promotion of Pricing, Reference, and Alternative data.

We are looking for a Content Relationship Manager passionate about developing and commercializing our strategic Private Markets data offering. The needs of the asset owner community which includes pensions, insurance companies, endowments, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and their advisors continues to evolve. Making strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions continues to be a major focus while selecting outside managers and identifying alternative investments (private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure) to fill allocation sleeves has become an increased focus of their workflow.

We'll trust you to:

  • Build strong relationships with new and existing Private Markets content providers to strike mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Champion cross-department requirements and collaboration with Bloomberg Sales, Product, Technology, COOs, CFOs, and Data teams to find opportunities with your content providers, and complete successful go to market strategies
  • Identify, analyze, and negotiate the acquisition of strategic datasets to improve our data coverage and data quality, while mitigating risk by constantly improving the depth of prospects
  • Use your subject matter expertise by demonstrating your understanding of the data from your content providers, and by being a trusted adviser and responding to all queries relating to these datasets
  • Expedite data integration and ensure the quality of data through proactively reviewing datasets from our content partners
  • Pitch the Bloomberg value proposition for new content providers, and ensure we are improving the value of the content to the enterprise

You'll need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience working with senior leaders and decision-makers
  • Experience in building trust with business heads in order to develop long lasting business relationships which work well for both Bloomberg, as well as our content providers
  • Comfort with a high degree of autonomy and in managing priorities from multiple internal and external providers
  • Experience in pricing and reference data distribution, with proven knowledge in the Private Markets space
  • Interest in identifying and following emerging research and data trends
  • Experience negotiating data deals, a high level of market data licensing knowledge, and commercial competence
  • Willingness and track record in building strong networks internally and externally
  • Capacity to develop innovative ideas that make our content provider relationships stronger
  • Ability to lead multiple projects at the same time and shift priorities quickly
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and client servicing skills

We'd love to see:

  • Knowledge of Private Markets data including Private Credit, Private Fund, and Private Company data
  • Understanding of market data and regulatory landscape
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Analytical approach
