Python Developer/Hardware Test Engineer

You will develop Python code to automate the functional hardware test systems we design and build for our customers. You will work closely with test engineers to develop, debug and verify test software on schedule and that meets all requirements. You will also assist in the development of the test racks and fixtures that will run Python code.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python test scripts to run on our SSP Python Test Executive application for custom test stations to meet customer requirements.
• Communicate with the electronics device under test.
• Control test instruments.
• Work with software and hardware test engineers to automate custom test stations.
• Debug, troubleshoot and verify Python test scripts on test stations.
• Write technical documentation including specs, verification procedures and operating procedures.
• Assist in creating block diagrams for hardware test stations.
• Install test systems at the customer sites and at their manufacturing facilities.
• Work with customers for code reviews and debug sessions.

Desired Skills & Experience

• 3 years Python work preferably on hardware test applications
• Working knowledge of test equipment and digital communication protocols
• Proven debug and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Eager to learn new technologies and processes
• Able to travel globally 10-15%
• BSCS, BSEE or similar field of study
