Technical Operation Construction manager (Fiber Optics)

Job Description:

• The Telecom team is seeking an individual with strong construction technical and troubleshooting skills to support ongoing construction projects, new builds, contractor management, and internal client partnerships. The individual must also have a strong understanding of Optical networking, IP networking and telephony demonstrated through past examples.
• Conduct in-depth site analysis to provide best construction practices
• Manage information and work streams, engage resources, coordinate schedule of work, timeline and PO tracking, and in-field oversight
• Coordinate, deliver, and oversee requests for temporary services for Special Events
• Facilitate fact-finding site walks with internal and external partners to ensure project success
• Contract review in association with current services
• Identify opportunities to enhance infrastructure to streamline services
• Responsible for analysis, facilitation, reporting and providing recommendations for process improvement and optimizing costs
• Manage contractor quality control and corresponding documentation
• Act as subject matter expert (SME) for operational support

Experience:

• A degree in a technical related field, appropriate certifications, or equivalent work experience
• 5 years in the telecommunications Industry as a Network or Operations Engineer
• Ability to make critical decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Google Earth Pro
• Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Must be an excellent team player who possesses solid interpersonal and organizational skills
• High energy, strong work ethic, and flexibility of schedule
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey data and analysis to internal and external customers
• Proven success collaborating with a range of partners while understanding multiple perspectives
• knowledge of Fiber-optic design and installation best practices
• Strong knowledge of GPON, Fiber-based networks, and OLT/ONT experience
• Demonstrated understanding of various Fiber optic measurement and testing tools, Fiber optic splicing and best practices

Skills:

• Fiber Optics and Infrastructure design
• Familiarity of multiple carriers

Education:

• Bachelor s Degree, Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
