Job Description

Our client, a multinational company that designs, manufactures, and sells networking equipment is seeking a Network Systems Engineer who meets the below requirements:

Regular work activities:

Daily team collaboration on work activities and priority check points

Perform in-depth troubleshooting to root cause and resolve issues in data center environment

Execute tasks in a time efficient manner to meet project/team timelines and expectations

Deliver clear and concise documentation on completed work

Execute work as it is defined by the Agile methodology

Maintaining tidy, safe, and compliant lab/work areas defined in Cisco standards and requirements


Technical skills

Configuring and maintaining virtual systems, VMware, OpenStack

o Configure bare metal set-ups

o VMware vCenter and ESX server configuration and administration (vSphere 6.0 6.7)

Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system (RHEL/Ubuntu), configuration and networking is highly desirable

L1-L3 networking knowledge and troubleshooting: CCNA preferred

o IPV4 and IPV6 subnetting

o DNS, DDNS and DHCP configuration administration

o Basic Networking knowledge/skills required:

Cisco Nexus datacenter switches (Nexus 5000, 7000) is a plus

o Understands cable standards, transceivers

o IP address management tools (IPAM)

o Port scanning tools

Understanding/Administration of Cisco UCS-c and UCS-B series servers highly desirable

Experience with Cisco CIMC or IPMI

Experience with RAID controllers and configuration

`Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios

Experience on NFS or iSCSI

Nice to have - Experience on variety of server admin hardware: Dell and HP

Nice to have experience with Netapp

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

Able to root cause complex problems and drive pro-active solutions.

A self-starter and team player, who can multitask according to priorities

Document best practices and problem-solving efforts for future implementation

Communicate effectively and collaboratively with integrated lab team members, engineers and leadership

A strong desire to learn new technologies and evolving technical concepts and various implementations

Passionate about working in networking technology.

Out-of-the box thinker, get things done right at first time

Detail oriented with strong written and verbal skills


This is a purely onsite role. No C2C candidates or sub contractors will be entertained. Applicant must be local to the area.
