Team or Function Overview

As a Software Architecture Intern, you'll have the opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions. At GAF, we'll make sure you get going on your very first day with a comprehensive orientation into our company. In our program, you will have the opportunity to own your own projects, participate in meetings, and work cross-functionally with other departments.

GAF is seeking a talented and motivated Architecture Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering, and a passion for designing innovative software solutions.

As an Architecture Intern, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our technology platform. You will assist in the design and development of new subject areas, contributing your technical expertise to create scalable, efficient, and user-friendly solutions.This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, gain hands-on experience, and develop valuable leadership skills.

Essential Duties
  • Learn and apply common design patterns to create scalable and maintainable software.
  • Master proficiency in various architectural styles, such as microservices, monolithic, and event-driven, to understand their trade-offs and applications
  • Familiarize yourself with cloud platforms ( Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their services (e.g., compute, storage, networking) to design cloud-native solutions
  • Participate in architectural reviews, analyze existing software systems and identify areas for improvement
  • Assist with technical documentation including diagrams, specifications, and design rationale
  • Practice critical thinking and problem-solving to address complex architectural challenges
  • Effectively communicate architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Learn from experienced architects and seek guidance on career development

  • Pursue of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Fluency in expressing requirements-solutions needs, capabilities, and outcomes
  • A strong foundation in architectural design software, coupled with a solid understanding of basic design principles and experience with personal projects, can be beneficial for architecture interns.
