Job Details
Looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for Nashville
The Senior Electrical Engineer performs a range of duties independently using standard design engineering techniques for small projects or selected segments of large projects. They work with the project team to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Takes responsible charge of projects within their experience and expertise, acting as the Engineer on Record (EOR) for assigned projects
Collaborates with other disciplines to determine equipment requirements and provide input for operating procedures and technical information
Conducts specific engineering studies and design analyses using industry software
Attends meetings with clients, owners, or architects as needed
Assists in developing design approaches and concepts
Evaluates the work of design colleagues and provides feedback and corrections
Conducts site visits during construction to monitor progress and observe installed construction, making comments based on design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes
Coordinates with local authorities, utilities, and municipalities to comply with associated construction and government standards
Identifies collisions and ensures that design staff address and resolve them
Develops overall man-hour budgets and is responsible for the discipline's man-hour budget; develops work plans for the discipline team in accordance with the budget
Provides input, feedback, and updates on project schedules and plans work in accordance with the schedule
Reviews shop drawings and submittals
Assists in preparing and implementing a proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for projects
Assists senior technical staff in developing technical documentation, proposals, and client presentations
Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, and clients to determine project scope
Reviews work for technical accuracy and completeness before the final QA/QC review
Continuously learns and develops within the discipline through self-education and training to keep up with industry trends and changes
Actively participates in the local chapter of a professional organization where the firm's technical reputation and professional image may be enhanced
Assists in training, mentoring, and guiding engineers, designers, and EITs
May provide input during employee reviews
An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college with eight years of applicable experience in discipline design and analysis
Registered Professional Engineer
Healthcare experience preferred
