The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test is a technical individual with a passion for delivering high quality, secure, scalable and reliable software and solving problems through innovation, technology and engineering practices. You will develop automated integration, component, UI tests using industry standard tools and techniques. You must have a proven track record of analyzing complex software requirements to design and develop high quality automated test solutions for N-tier systems. You will be responsible for all aspects of test automation including white box testing efforts. The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test must have strong knowledge of quality engineering best practices such as writing test plans, test cases and conducting root cause analyses. You will also participate in all phases of the SDLC, such as development, testing, implementation and maintenance of highly complex solutions in adherence to company standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Leads and performs test automation efforts such as analysis, design, coding/creating, and testing.

2. Participates in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions.

3. Development includes but is not limited to customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or using tools & technologies such as, but not limited to .Net, SQL, Selenium, CodedUI, & SpecFlow to generate an automated test solution.

4. Performs code reviews and testing activities to move high quality code from dev to production environments.

5. Participate in planning, estimation, tracking and demoing activities.

6. Ensures adherence to company and industry standards.

7. Provides technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations.

8. Conducts robust integration, component, functional testing and provides testing support for subsequent release testing.

9. Primarily responsible for ensuring high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks.

10. Actively participates in refining user stories.

11. Responsible for developing and supporting component, integration and functional testing.

12. Responsible for providing warranty support and providing knowledge transfer to production support.

13. Develops code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience as a Engineer (Automation) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

2. Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools

3. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills to address sophisticated issues

4. Ability to design and implement data validation and testing strategies

5. Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management system

6. Experience with data integration, ETL processes, data pipeline management, and data warehousing

7. Excellent communication skills to convey complex data quality issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

8. Experience with data integration and regression automation design, development, and implementation

9. Understanding agile/scrum methodology and experience with tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps or Broadcom Rally.

10. Experience working in a two-week sprint cadence

11. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and data test using MS Test suite

12. Python and AWS knowledge are plus

13. Banking industry experience and knowledge are plus

Preferred Qualifications:
1. College degree in Computer Science, math or related field of study Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related degree and eight years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
2. Knowledge of specific applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments
3. Banking or financial services experience. Knowledge of one or more of the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills
4. Professional experience building high-quality apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level
5. Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks
6. Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
7. Strong understanding of SOA and/or Open API methodologies and service architectures
8. Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies
9. Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling)
10. Experience with messaging systems (i.e., MQ and JMS)
11. Experience with build tools, such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins. Proven ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests

The annual base salary for this position is $90 - $150.

Candidate must either be on the West Coast or live in San Diego, CA for consideration.
