The SES Device group is looking for a motivated college entry level Software Engineer Intern to work with our security scanners SW development group. As a Software Engineer Intern, you will receive mentorship and collaborate with our senior leaders on assignments.
Leidos will provide the candidate with real world experience and technical and career mentorship throughout the internship, which may result in full-time employment opportunities upon graduation.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00

Primary Responsibilities
- Design develop and troubleshoot software modules for security scanner using Microsoft Visual Studio IDE
- As a member of the SW development team, Participate in the complete SW development lifecycle.
- Use Azure, git DevOps tools
- Create and performs Unit Tests for SW modules
- Closely collaborates with other SW engineers to develop the best technical approach considering the overall system architecture.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a college degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent program. No prior work experience is required.
- Local candidates strongly preferred.
- Experience with object-oriented programming
- Solid understanding of software development process fundamentals
- Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- 3.0 GPA or above
- Working Knowledge of C++
- Working knowledge of Managed Code programing Languages such as C# or Java
- Knowledge of a version control system (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies.
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Windows, LINUX.).
- Familiarity with at least one Relational Database Management System (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).
- Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint).
