Responsibilities:
- Integrate into a cross-functional team and support the focal point for THAAD Missile hardware development, integration, test, production, and sustainment.
- Provide technical expertise on some portion of appropriate missile components including thrust vector actuator, boost motor, shroud, kill vehicle midbody, divert and attitude control system (DACS), and ordnance systems.
- Interface with senior engineers in the technical review of emerging THAAD Missile design updates in support of both obsolescence and/or performance driven upgrades as required.
- Provide technical expertise and team guidance related to technologies utilized in missile hardware components.
- Assist the team by reviewing test plans, requirements, and evaluation of component/interceptor performance related to updates and design changes.
- Plan, define, evaluate, and monitor contract tasks involving THAAD Missile design, development, evaluation, test, and production.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM program and 3+ years of engineering experience with portions of design, development, testing, manufacturing, or sustainment of mechanical or electrical systems.
- Understanding and application of sound engineering principles related to component design, interoperability, failure investigation, and risk mitigation.
- Experience working in a high intensity environment with minimal supervision.
- Travel as required to other locations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to include creation and presentation of briefing materials.
- Strong computer skills - working knowledge of MS office suite of tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Technical knowledge and experience with mechanical or electrical systems, including components listed above.
- Knowledge of structural or propulsion operations, mechanical integration, thermal requirements and analysis.
- Detailed design and manufacturing experience with high reliability missile components qualified to demanding environments.
- Experience applying engineering and DOD acquisition process, policies, procedures, and practices, including entrance and exit criteria evaluation prior to formal design reviews.
- Leadership skills for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling engineering teams tasked with the design, development, testing, manufacturing, and sustainment of missile components within a complex system.
