Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a Datacenter Engineering Civil, Structural, and Architectural Manager to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world's largest online services.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to ( 50)% .

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years people management experience.
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Registered Architect or Professional Engineer License


Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualification s
  • Technical understanding of mission critical environments.
  • Ability to lead team of engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large data center environments.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • 10 years' experience in mission critical projects (Datacenters, Laboratories and/or Micro-Electronics projects or similar)
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to lead and be proactive

Technical Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Overall leadership of the Civil, Structural, and Architectural Subject Matter Experts, supporting career and technical growth, technical direction, and the facilitation and delivery of Microsoft's industry-leading datacenter designs
  • Collaborate with Global Technical Excellence team, Global Strategy teams and DCE Operations Team to develop the datacenter designs from basis of design (BOD) to issue for constructions (IFC) and through the Construction Administration phase of datacenter until handover for new DC project build-outs.
  • Lead the direction of the CSA technical delivery and oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent , complete Datacenter design solutions aligned with the scopes, schedules and budgets of the projects
