Title: System Engineer WDAC Deployment

Location: Folsom, NJ (Hybrid local candidates only)

Type: Contract

Our client is seeking a System Engineer to oversee the phased rollout of Microsoft Defender Application Control (WDAC) across approximately 1,700 end-user machines, including laptops and desktops. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, reporting, and resolving issues during the deployment process. The role involves coordinating with end users, providing technical support, and ensuring minimal disruption to users throughout the deployment.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate the phased deployment of WDAC across 1,700+ end-user machines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting issues, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems during the rollout.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Defender Application Control in real-time to minimize user impact.
  • Work with end users to identify and address any compatibility or operational issues.
  • Utilize Microsoft tools such as Event Viewer and PowerShell for diagnostics, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Apply application packaging concepts to ensure smooth deployment of WDAC.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and address issues that arise during the rollout process.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to end users throughout the deployment process.


Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in troubleshooting issues with Microsoft Defender Application Control.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft tools such as Event Viewer, PowerShell, and related diagnostic utilities.
  • Knowledge of application packaging concepts and deployment best practices.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with end users.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks while ensuring minimal impact on users.
