Required Skills and Education
A Bachelor's or Master's degrees are preferred with a minimum of eleven (6) years relevant experience with the following skillsets:
- Serve as part of a network engineering team to deliver Transport services in support of a large IT infrastructure project
- MPLS/BGP transport network design and engineering
- Must be a self-starter that can lead Service Provider Architecture solutions and guide junior network engineers
- Ability to design and implement Service Provider core and edge technologies
- Expert level experience with network routing protocols such as, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and ISIS
- Deep understanding of modern Service Provider architecture solutions
- Ability to translate customer requirements into enterprise/service provider network solutions
- Ability to develop and engineer a Service Provider network that will integrate with other service providers
- Ability to develop and negotiate IP peering agreements between service providers
- Ability to perform upgrades and routine network operations/maintenance at Tier 4 support level
- Experience with multiple router operating systems to include IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and JUNOS
- Experience with multi-vendor solutions (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
- Experience with SD-WAN solutions

Preferred Skills and Education
- Experience with a wide variety of network technologies and architectures
- Prior routing experience working with other Intelligence Community partners
- Prior experience working in service provider networks
- Broad understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the networking field
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art systems engineering principles and network design concepts
- Cloud Service Provider and hybrid cloud experience (extending on-premise networks to cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Oracle, and Google)
- Continuous Integration, test automation on iterative development projects
- Prior experience with Network Automation (Cisco, NSO, Ansible, Python)
