Introduction:

We are currently seeking an Engineer looking to gain real-world automotive industry experience within the Closures team at Lucid Motors. Closures are complex electro-mechanical systems in the form of doors, liftgates, hoods and even Chargeports! Every closure system has a direct interface with the customer that creates a unique opportunity for candidates to demonstrate their work to the world.

• Swiss army knife approach to problem solving - can you solve any problem using fundamental learnings in academia?
• Demonstration of working well in a high-performing team. Can you deal with strong personalities?
• Ability to read a room and communicate concisely and effectively to different audiences.
• Passion for personal development. Can you demonstrate continual personal growth outside of academia or a working environment?
• Ownership mindset. Can you lead from the front and be recognized for an outstanding contribution to a team activity?
• Experience with a CAD program. Solid modelling as a foundation, Surface modelling and parametric design a bonus!
• Experience with CAE tools. How did you validate your design would work in the virtual world?
• Ability to offer solutions with net positive outcomes! When engineers don't agree on a path forward, how can a decision be made that works for everyone?

Education:

• Field(s) of study: Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's Degree program at an accredited university
• Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)

Program Information:

• Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.
• Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
• Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.
• Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $40 to $60 (subject to changes).
• Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.
• Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.
• Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
• Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.
• Medical benefits: Dental, vision, and medical on day 1 for all interns working full-time.
• Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S employment authorization.

Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (hourly)

$40 - $60 USD
