HDR is seeking a highly motivated Power Electrical Designer in our power generation electrical/control group. This individual will be a key member of HDR's rapidly growing engineering team and will work under senior engineers to support the following:

In the role of Power Electrical Designer, we'll count on you to:

  • Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and procedures
  • Production of design drawings and construction documents through the use of computer aided design and other software
  • Preparation of design calculations including voltage drop, cable sizing, grounding cable fill, ductbank and other electrical components.
  • Preparation of specifications and contract documents
  • Coordination with other disciplines as necessary
  • Work closely with other project team members on multidiscipline projects


Preferred Qualifications

  • Working level skills in AutoCad and Microstation
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary environments


Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported
  • Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported
  • Knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supported
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
