Job Description

As a Senior Technical Specialist with System 6, you will be a member of a team of skilled technical professionals across the globe who are responsible for the development and maintenance of the system. These professionals are a mix of Chubb employees in the US and India as well as Accenture employees.

This role is suitable for a seasoned developer possessing expertise and a proven track record with the Microsoft technology stack. The Senior Technical Specialist is expected to not only create highly testable and maintainable code, but also demonstrate outstanding competence in requirements analysis and solution design.

The System 6 team works in a fast-paced environment, developing and supporting a complex system that's used daily by over 50 countries globally. This position requires the ability to work and communicate efficiently and effectively amidst a constantly shifting landscape of requests and priorities. You will be expected to show a high degree of personal initiative and the capacity to work independently. At the same time, being open to feedback and collaboration with a tight-knit team is critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Work independently, or with other team members and the regional program leads, to analyze new requirements, problems, and business processes, and to design appropriate solutions.
  • Develop new functionality for System 6 using the Microsoft development tools and technology stack and ensure that it is thoroughly unit tested and of high quality.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of System 6 billing and downstream financial reporting processes to provide guidance and production support to North America and Latin America.
  • Work with the regional and local IT systems teams on projects and provide support for various production issues encountered across all regions, with a particular focus on North America and Latin America support.
  • Assist in the creation, iterative development, and maintenance of automated deployment models (DevOps, CI/CD pipeline). Ensure that new application features and functions are developed, tested, and deployed on a regular basis and that this overall process is consistently targeted for improvement.
  • Adhere to Chubb IT policies and procedures, ensuring that security and architecture standards are followed and implemented in System 6.
  • Demonstrate leadership and a capacity to drive results. All individual contributors on the team are given opportunities to assume ownership of one or more R&D initiatives as needed.
  • Engage in continual technical development - stay abreast of the latest technological trends in Azure, SQL, .NET, front-end frameworks, etc., and ensure that System 6 continues to be at the leading edge of technology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10 - 15 years in a technical development position.
  • 5 - 10 years developing solutions in .NET and a strong understanding of the .NET landscape is considered essential for this role. A working knowledge of Microsoft Entity Framework is also desirable.
  • 5+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Experience in SSIS and SQL Server Administration is desirable.
  • Experience with software design best-practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and test-driven development.
  • A working knowledge of one or more of the following: Angular, Bootstrap, and jQuery.
  • Experience with Azure and microservices is a plus.
