Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Senior Virtual Systems Administrator at USSTRATCOM - Offutt AFB, Nebraska.

What you will do:
  • Responsible for the daily operations of virtualization and storage systems in a datacenter environment.
  • Responsible for administering, monitoring and configuring VMware ESXi Hypervisor systems and other virtualization platforms
  • Managing, deploying, and troubleshooting both physical and virtual servers. Use of vSphere technology to scale servers and services for both physical and virtual environments.
  • Responsible for managing the secure and efficient storage of electronic data, and development, configuration and maintenance of storage systems and resources.
  • Ensures regular backups are completed and contingencies and safeguards are in place and maintained.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Working knowledge of configuration and administration of vSphere 7/8
  • Working knowledge of administration of ESXi 7.X / 8.X
  • Performance of VMware change control and patch management
  • Ability to secure all VMware components to DoD STIG requirements
  • Configuration of VMware distributed switching in clustered environments
  • Experience opening and managing vendor support requests when required
  • Good comfort level with Powershell (PowerCLI) scripting environments
  • Familiarity with Aria Suite (formerly vRealize) for capacity analysis and dashboard design for environment optimization
  • Provide documentation of successful issue resolution, troubleshooting, and procedure implementation for daily reporting
  • Familiarity with storage provisioning in virtualized environments

Qualifications

What you will need:
  • An active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
  • 2 years with BS/BA, 0 years with MS/MA, six years with no degree
  • A current/valid Security+ Certification, or equivalent.
  • Experience with NAS and vSAN technologies.
  • Experience in administering VMware and ESXi 7.X and later.
  • 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
  • TS/SCI security clearance

Desired Certifications:
  • VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (recent within 2 years)

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
