Business Analyst / QA Analyst Location: Remote (Los Angeles CA (preferred) / New York, NY) Duration: 6-12 Months Contract
Role Overview:
This position plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between IT teams and business stakeholders. The Business/QA Analyst is a key member of the product management team and works closely with engineering and business teams. This role involves analyzing business requirements, evaluating process strengths and weaknesses, and ensuring that products meet quality standards before they are delivered to customers.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis:

    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document their process workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Elicit and document requirements to address business needs through new technology solutions and/or new application features.
    • Document user stories in Jira and provide input into test cases.
    • Quantify and measure the potential business value of proposed changes or enhancements.
    • Assist with change management efforts (including training content creation, training delivery and communication) to roll-out new applications to business users.
    • Operate collaboratively as part of a cross-functional Scrum-based Agile team and help ensure the team is working towards a minimum viable product definition within time constraints.
    • Ensure requirements are traceable to the objectives and test cases.

Quality Assurance:

      • Translate expected application processes into well written functional test cases, executing manual test cases, and documenting results.
      • Collaborate with QA Engineer to compile regression and performance test cases and identify prioritization for test automation.
      • Review products, log, track and manage defects, errors, and adherence to quality standards.
      • Track progress on resolving product issues and ensure final products meet functional requirements.
      • Familiarity with testing methodologies, techniques and tools such as Playwright for test automation.

User Acceptance Testing / Beta Testing and Hypercare/Adoption Support:

    • Participate in user acceptance testing to validate that the product meets specified requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during beta testing to identify and address issues and subsequently work with the developers to reproduce and resolve.
    • Interact with users to address troubleshooting errors and providing guidance on product usage.
    • Monitor and audit processes to maintain quality standards.
    • Develop and maintain quality assurance standards for products and services.
    • Partner with Product Owners s to identify and document risks and define mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years functioning in business analysis and quality assurance roles within an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) framework
  • Strong communication, collaboration and negotiation abilities
  • Successful ability to help manage user requirements to project time constraints
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Broad background with software development processes and quality assurance methodologies

Nice-to-Have:

  • Prior experience working with professional services businesses, ideally in the sports, media and entertainment sectors
