Software License Renewal Specialist

Overview: We are looking for a Software License Renewal Specialist to manage and oversee the renewal process for software licenses across our organization. This role ensures that all software subscriptions, contracts, and compliance requirements are met in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in vendor management, with a strong understanding of software licensing agreements and procurement processes.

Location: Onsite - Maple Grove, MN (must be local)

Responsibilities:
Track, manage, and process software license renewals to ensure uninterrupted access to critical applications.
Maintain an up-to-date database of software licenses, including renewal dates, usage, and compliance status.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (IT, Finance, Procurement, and Legal) to assess renewal needs and budget requirements.
Communicate with software vendors and resellers to negotiate renewal terms, pricing, and service-level agreements.
Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and manage any necessary audits or compliance reporting.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, such as license consolidation or alternative vendor options.
Assist in evaluating new licensing models, including SaaS, subscription-based, and perpetual licenses.
Work with IT teams to track software usage and optimize licensing strategies.
Develop and improve internal processes and tools to streamline license renewal management.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
1-3 years of experience in software asset management, procurement, IT vendor management, or licensing.
Understanding of software licensing models (SaaS, perpetual, enterprise agreements, user-based licensing, etc.).
Experience working with IT asset management (ITAM) or software asset management (SAM) tools (e.g., Flexera, ServiceNow, Snow License Manager).
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Proficiency in Excel, contract management systems, and procurement tools.
Experience with Ariba - understand how to request PO's
