Cybersecurity Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect in Alpharetta, GA.

Summary:
In this role, you will define and drive the cybersecurity principles, standards, and design patterns for our multi-cloud and on-premises environments. This role focuses on securing cloud infrastructure and traditional infrastructure, while partnering with peer architects who specialize in application, SaaS, and network security.

This individual will apply deep cybersecurity expertise to design and build secure systems, collaborate cross-functionally, and establish architectural guidelines adopted across enterprise and product engineering teams. The Senior Lead Cybersecurity Architect will report directly to the Senior Director of Cybersecurity Architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
* Cybersecurity Architect will recommend and shape cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and guardrails
* Lead cybersecurity working groups to define security guidelines across product and enterprise architecture teams
* Develop secure design patterns aligned with engineering best practices
* Contribute to broader governance frameworks, policies, and architectural standards beyond cybersecurity
* Analyze complex risks to information systems and propose innovative mitigations
* Collaborate with development and technical teams to drive efficient and scalable deployment processes
* Define cybersecurity guardrails in partnership with business and engineering teams to ensure seamless adoption
* Participate in incident response efforts, identifying design gaps and proposing long-term solutions
* As a Cybersecurity Architect, you will research emerging threats, trends, and technologies to recommend enhancements
* Ensure security is a foundational element in development, operations, and data initiatives
* Integrate vulnerability management, governance, cyber defense, continuous monitoring, and identity management into architectural standards

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent: Master's + 6 years, Ph.D. + 3 years, or 12+ years of experience)
* Minimum 4 years focused directly on cybersecurity
* Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and on-premises infrastructure
* Agile methodology experience
* Expertise in assessing risk and recommending mitigations based on impact to the business
* Deep understanding of security architectures including Zero Trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, virtualization, and containerization
* Background in deploying cybersecurity solutions within Fortune 1000 environments
* Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27000, FFIEC) and regulatory standards (GDPR, GLBA, FFIEC)
* Creative problem-solver with solid business judgment
* Exceptional writing, customer service, and executive presentation skills
* Strong collaboration skills, including building effective partnerships across cybersecurity teams
* Consultative approach, able to address complex topics with stakeholders at all levels
* Ability to clearly communicate security policies and their objectives to varied audiences

Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant certifications: CISSP, CEH, OSCP, AWS, Azure, CISM, CISA
* Experience developing and implementing cybersecurity best practices across full application and hosting stacks
* Hands-on experience with application security methodologies
* Experience applying the AWS Well-Architected Framework
* Familiarity with application security, SaaS, network security, DevSecOps, and software-defined networking
* Strong knowledge of IAM, cryptography, secrets management, and modern security protocols
* Broad technical knowledge, including Python, .NET, Java, Spring, serverless, cloud authentication patterns, and Oracle
* Expertise with firewalls, WAFs, DMZ architecture, and related security technologies
* Background in developing enterprise cloud solutions in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
