Job Role: Senior Microsoft ETL SSIS Developer

  • Remote role person can live anywhere in the US, however the east coast is (preferred), or central and Midwest regions are also okay. The expected work hours will be EST eastern time zone
  • Start within the next 2-4 weeks.
  • Initial commitment will be 6 months, but if candidate is good, this will be a long term multi-year engagement

Job Description:

We need a hardcore high end SQL backend developer, 100% ETL / SSIS developer. This is not a Report Developer....This is a ETL Developer using SSIS. Primary skill set is SSIS Development work (for many years as well as currently working with SSIS packages as well). SQL development (writing code). They need a resource that can read, understand and write SQL code (and ) inside and out. Troubleshooting skills are a must. We do not want a manager, lead or supervisor. They do want a roll up your sleeves hard core developer person, who is current with SSIS. Must be a Sr Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) Developer. Someone with sound knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) using ETL in developing, testing, deploying packages. The number one skill set for this role is the ability to do ETL on SQL Server, so SSIS is the primary focus. Candidates MUST BE CURRENT on SSIS skills. They will be grilled on SSIS related questions in the interview. We need candidates that are CURRENTLY creating SSIS packages.

The resource must have old school back end SSIS skill and experience. SSIS is old technology (20+ years), on prem. Most really good developers, worked on SSIS in the past and were experts. HOWEVER, they stopped working on SSIS about 2-3 years ago, and have forgotten some important stuff, because they moved onto and are now focusing on the cloud like ADF (azure data factory) and other tools. Which is completely understandable. really need an old school developer that is currently working with SSIS and SSAS. When you speak to candidates, please stay focused on SSIS and SSAS, SQL and PL/ SQL Dev. Must have hard core development skills....that are CURRENT. Working on this technology on their last and current projects. If they have moved onto the cloud, then this is NOT The right person.

Also need experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) surrounding designing and deploying Multidimensional Cubes and writing MDX queries.

Must have experience writing stored procedures, functions, triggers and views using PL/SQL and T-SQL.
