Job Details

Title: Infrastructure Enterprise Architect

Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid)

Length : Full time

Responsibilities:

  • Work with business and IT teams to create and follow technology plans for things like cloud, network, storage, and servers, ensuring they meet business needs.
  • Set and maintain rules for technology systems, especially for cloud services, data centers, networking, and disaster recovery.
  • Oversee the design and setup of large systems to ensure they can grow, are always available, and are secure
  • Monitor upgrades and changes to systems (like moving to the cloud) to ensure they work well and stay within budget.
  • Help choose and set up tools and platforms that align with the organization's goals.
  • Ensure the infrastructure works during problems and can recover quickly. Create backup plans to minimize downtime.
  • Work with teams to find and fix slow parts of the infrastructure and suggest ways to expand to meet future needs.
  • Create plans that use both local data centers and cloud services (like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for better flexibility and cost savings.
  • Set and manage rules for using the cloud, focusing on costs and improving resources.
  • Collaborate with IT operations teams to ensure infrastructure designs work well in real life. Provide advice on improving responses to problems and managing key parts of the infrastructure.
  • Oversee the transition of projects from development to operational use, ensuring a smooth handover to support and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure infrastructure designs follow cybersecurity rules and laws (like GDPR and SOX).Work with security teams to add protective features, focusing on reducing threats and managing risks.
  • Regularly check for weaknesses in the infrastructure and work with security teams to fix any issues.
  • Look for ways to save money on infrastructure by suggesting better solutions and using cloud features (like auto-scaling).
  • Collaborate with business and tech groups to create and manage infrastructure plans that support all activities.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in designing, setting up, and managing large IT systems (like networks, servers, storage, and cloud services)
  • Good knowledge of cloud services (like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and mixed setups, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Strong understanding of IT tasks, such as checking performance, maintaining systems, and planning for needs.
  • Experience with recovery plans, keeping systems running smoothly, and making sure important infrastructure works well.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity rules, compliance needs, and best practices for security.
  • Good experience working with outside vendors to negotiate contracts, explore new options, and maintain good relationships for value and reduced risks.
  • Experience working with different teams, like app designers and network engineers, to ensure the infrastructure aligns with the company's tech plans and business goals.
  • Great communication and teamwork skills, able to work well with both technical and non-technical people.
