The Impact You Will Make

The Web Application Developer will design, develop, and maintain scalable PHP applications using the Laravel framework, while also supporting legacy PHP applications. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and project managers, to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with project goals. Key responsibilities include managing and supporting our payment processing portal on AWS/TypeScript/Node.js, conducting thorough testing and debugging to resolve issues, and integrating third-party SaaS solutions. The developer will also participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and other developers, to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Maintain and support existing legacy PHP applications developed in Zend Framework 3 and Laravel 8.
  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable PHP applications, REST APIs and 3rd-party SaaS integrations using the Laravel framework.
  • Support and maintain an existing e-commerce payment portal deployed on AWS infrastructure.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy applications and manage infrastructure on AWS and in-house Linux servers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Extensive experience (5 to 10 years) in PHP and web application development.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and Amplify.
  • Proficiency in various MVC frameworks such as Laravel and Zend.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, MVC architecture and its core principles and best practices
  • Experience working with serverless architectures and microservices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks and libraries like React or Vue.js is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of database design and SQL, including experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, testable and well-documented code.
  • Familiar with CI/CD systems and pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards tackling challenges.
