Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on DevOps methodologies to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the integration of complex systems, automating workflows, and facilitating continuous integration and continuous deployment practices to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of both software development and IT operations, aiming to bridge gaps between systems, teams, and processes.

This is a hybrid position. Attendance at the workplace for this role may fluctuate, but during the initial two months, you can expect to be onsite approximately 3-4 times per month, transitioning to fully remote thereafter.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of integrated systems solutions to support enterprise objectives.
  • Develop and maintain robust automation workflows for software build, test, and deployment processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Architect and implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development and operational activities.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and other IT teams to ensure seamless, high-quality software delivery.
  • Conduct systems analysis and evaluation to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
  • Ensure systems integration aligns with industry best practices and compliance standards.
  • Provide expert guidance and support for DevOps tools and practices, facilitating knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Manage and monitor integrated systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Lead root cause analysis for system issues and implement strategic solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in systems integration and DevOps, recommending adoption of new tools and practices where beneficial.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and five (5) years or more of related experience in systems integration and automation within a DevOps culture; Master's degree and three (3) years or more experience in systems integration and automation within a DevOps culture.
  • Current holder of a DHS Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one. Note: Employment will be contingent upon having/obtaining a DHS Public Trust clearance prior to starting.
  • Strong expertise in DevOps methodologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their management APIs.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Certifications in DevOps, cloud computing, or related fields (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and API integration.
  • Active DHS Public Trust.

Citizenship / Clearance Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain DHS Public Trust prior to starting with our team.
  • CBP Background Investigation requires drug screen prior to starting.
