Target UX is a group of design, content, research, and accessibility practitioners and experts, with a passion for improving and innovating our digital experiences for Target's guests, team members, and partners. Here, we pride ourselves on designing tangible, inspiring, and impactful solutions that serve all aspects of our business- and being a part of the team means you will play a critical role for Target's digital experience by increasing ease, simplicity, value, and delight for every touchpoint.

About the role:

We have multiple Lead UX Designer roles within our Enterprise UX (EUX) team that put you at the forefront of Target's evolving enterprise tools and experiences. From supply chain logistics to store technologies, EUX designers create experiences that help our team members work more efficiently, make smarter decisions, and ultimately deliver joy to our guests every day.

As a Lead UX Designer, you'll play a critical role in shaping product strategy, guiding cross-functional teams, and ensuring that every experience we design is useful, intuitive, scalable, and aligned to business and user needs. You'll work across a complex ecosystem of products to connect workflows, elevate internal efficiency, and contribute to the future of enterprise design at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and contribute to UX strategy and vision for product experiences across digital platforms - influencing investment, collaborations, and the balance of new vs. Iteration

  • Leverage your influence to champion user-centric outcomes within and across product experiences

  • Effectively facilitate multiple cross functional working teams and collaborate across multiple design and product teams

  • Produce high-quality design deliverables throughout the process, including journey maps, wireframes, user flows, UI design, and prototypes

  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering growth in craft and critical thinking.

  • Investigate using both qualitative and quantitative research methods

  • Set a high standard for design craft-ensuring accessibility, usability, clear information architecture, thoughtful interaction design, and polished visual execution

  • Promote and advance a culture of human-centered design across UX, product, and engineering

  • Build a network of relationships to enable your vision in service of enterprise experiences and tools and Target as a whole

About you:

  • 7+ years' experience as a product designer with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product design work

  • You thrive at the intersection of design strategy, scaled solutions, and craft

  • Expert skills in UX and product design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process

  • Advanced proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).

  • Advanced strategic problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration skills

  • Proven ability to effectively use data and insights to set your direction and communicate your approach

  • Skilled at balancing near-term delivery with long-term vision.

  • You are an expert in communicating how design connects to, serves, and improves business outcomes

  • Comfortable exploring and using emerging AI-powered tools to support the design process, with curiosity around its evolving role in UX practice

  • Exhibit a growth mindset and a passion for evolving your practice and the broader UX discipline
