IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.

Our client is looking for a Business Analyst. This is a senior-level position performing difficult and complex work reviewing policies, priorities, recommendations, and/or solutions to IT and business-related issues. This person will serve as the principal authority in the analysis of business process definition/redefinition projects, with little supervision, and providing expertise in multiple projects of moderate to difficult scope and complexity. his position requires knowledge of project management principles, methods and practices along with technical skills to work with complex data and find meaningful insights from it.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Advanced ability to recognize how and when to improve a process and to recommend, negotiate, and implement change.
  • Comprehensive experience in business process analysis, new business process design, quality/process improvement, and change management.
  • Advanced experience and ability at identifying key points and communicating results accurately and effectively to a broad audience.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, testing, and deployment.
  • Expert ability to communicate business and technical concepts and information effectively to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to take the initiative to assertively represent business needs, to stand firm when necessary and to compromise when possible, to diplomatically challenge assumptions, and to make recommendations to business and technical staff at all levels of responsibility and authority throughout the organization.
  • Highly skilled in effective time management and priority-setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze facts and apply sound judgment in decision making.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all client security standards, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Effective and efficient interactions with staff and management at all organizational levels and areas of the client is an essential part of this position.

NOTE: No WI residency required. Open to nationwide candidates, but preference is being giving to current WI residents. This position may work 100% remote within the continental US. The selected candidate will have to work in the office occasionally or as business needs arise. If the selected candidate is required to come onsite, it is their responsibility to cover any costs for travel, lodging and meals.

Skills Required:
  • 5+ years - Lead, facilitate, and coordinate business requirements gathering. Validate the requirements and assist with the functional design of solutions experience.
  • 5+ years - Experience developing, executing and documenting test plans and organizing and overseeing end-user testing and acceptance. Track defects and coordinate resolutions.
  • 5+ years - Research, perform analysis, and provide recommendations for solutions that meet business needs and fit within the system/software capabilities.
  • 5+ years - Writing SQL queries and creating source to target mapping documents.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of project management methods, tools, and techniques, including MS Visio; experience working with project management software.
  • Expert ability to analyze enterprise-wide business and technology issues in a large or complex organization and be able to document and communicate business knowledge.
  • Data, Business and Technical expertise, with an emphasis on technical skills.
  • Bachelor s Degree (Please include on Resume)

Skills Desired A plus to have:
  • 5+ years - Experience doing business analysis on large and complex IT projects

Certification of Competency in Business AnalysisTM (CCBATM) Designation, Certified Business Analysis ProfessionalTM (CBAP ) Designation (Please include on Resume)
