Summary of role:
GlobalFoundries (GF) is seeking a self-driven professional to develop leading-edge test solutions for high-speed, high-frequency integrated circuit designs in the growing High-performance Computing, Aerospace & Defense markets based on next-generation GF proprietary technologies. The successful candidate will be a member of an established world-class test engineering team, working in an high-performance cultural environment and driven by collaborative innovation, analytical thinking and creative problem solving.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-volume wafer & module test solutions - based on the 93K Advantest platform - to characterize high-speed, high-frequency integrated circuits.
  • Interface with client's design teams to define the test specifications requirements, design GF proprietary h/w & s/w solutions, debug and characterize the ?first silicon'.
  • Provide training and technical support to transfer the solution to GF internal manufacturing engineering teams for Early User Hardware (EUH) testing or to outsource solutions to third-party OSAT facilities for high-volume production.
  • Actively contribute to innovation and improvement activities to constantly redefine and develop novel, Best-In-Class (BIC) solutions.
  • Full-time position at GF state-of-the-art Labs in Essex Junction, VT with some level of remote work flexibility.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics.
  • Meet ITAR requirements.
  • 2+ years' experience developing accurate, repeatable test solutions for high-speed, RF/mmWave devices using the Advantest 93K platform within a SmarTest8 environment.
  • Strong Java programming skills (Linux).
  • 2+ year PCB board design experience with emphasis on high-speed, low noise and matching techniques - and preference for Cadence Allegro tools.
  • Advanced understanding of high-speed & RF/mm-wave circuit design and the bench equipment tools needed to measure them.
  • Strong hands-on engineering ability with excellent debugging skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Electro-Magnetic theory.
  • Mastery of verbal and written communication to successfully interact with highly technical teams, engage with highly versed clients and to provide documentation of the highest quality.
  • Demonstrated analytical & positive thinking, desire to innovate, accountability for your work and people skills.


Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics.
  • Active or past Security Clearance.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated industry experience in Java programming within a Linux environment.
  • Theoretical knowledge and 2+ years' industry experience using Electro-Magnetic simulation tools - ADS momentum (preferred) or equivalent.
  • Experience designing RF circuits.
  • 2+ years hands on experience with RF matching and RF test equipment.
  • Knowledge of R or equivalent data analysis software.
  • Fluency in shell scripting, multi-paradigm (Matlab/R) and high-level programming languages (Python/Perl) for automation and statistical data analysis.

Expected Salary Range
$63,500.00 - $142,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
