#1775 Senior Accountant Job Description

The Senior Accountant s primary duty will be to maintain accurate and timely financial records by managing and reconciling accounts receivable and accounts payable, preparing journal entries, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Participate in internal audits and implement recommendations as necessary.
  • Understand and execute two-step distribution processes, ensuring accuracy in inventory management and cost allocation.
  • Support cost accounting activities, including variance analysis and cost allocation.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of standard costs and budgets.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of accruals and adjustments.
  • Researching and correcting account discrepancies.
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned, i.e., special projects, programs, and developmental activities.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits.
  • Proficiency in accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Basic knowledge of cost accounting and two-step distribution.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-driven, service-oriented, diligent, adaptable, resourceful, and a well-organized team player.
  • Highly result-driven, great analytical skills, accountability, and, most importantly, integrity.
