Senior Systems Engineer

We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S.
Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Aerospace Management Systems Division (AFLCMC/HBA) which is within the Digital Directorate and located at Hanscom AFB, MA.
This is a full time / salaried position located at Hanscom AFB, MA.
Responsibilities:
Integrator Rapid Checklists
Site Surveys
Site Designs
Integrator Equipment Kitting.
Integrator Equipment Deliveries (ITS - intent to ship; SAR - assembly record of equipment)
Qualifications:
Clearance: Must have an active US Security Clearance
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a professional engineering discipline, with 5 years of directly related experience; preferably in a DoD setting. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 7 years of specific experience as described below.

Responsibilities:
- Currently do STARS Deployment - In Charge of AF Deployment and Represent DoD at FAA meetings.
- Maintain the STARS data necessary for all the AF STARS strings at AF RAPCONs and all STARS AF Towers (local and remote).
- Provide Integrator Contract CDRLs to the Hanscom Team
- Responsible for all deployment contract actions for STARS such as:

Qualifications:

- Familiarity with wide-area networking (WAN), software-defined networking (SDN) and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS).
- Familiarity with USAF MAJCOM-base organizational structures to include communications squadrons as relates to provision, operation and maintenance of on-base WAN/LAN capabilities including copper and fiber infrastructure.
- Familiarity with USAF MAJCOM-base organizational structures to include Operational Support Squadrons as relates to operation and maintenance of ATC systems.
- Familiarity with DoD and FAA air traffic control (ATC) system interfaces and data protocols is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability and experience planning, estimating, and managing activities for implementation of services such as those above.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
