Primary Focus

The Network Systems Administrator will develop and implement standard operating procedures to manage, maintain, and administer all system support elements including hypervisors, physical and virtual servers, and storage services to meet mission requirements. All duties and responsibilities performed in accordance with the Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

  • Adding and configuring new servers and storage equipment. (4-5 per month).
  • Setting up and maintaining Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) administrative accounts (weekly).
  • Installing and updating system-wide software updates during approved maintenance periods while complying with security policy/procedures (weekly).
  • System file management. Manage system files for operation such as scripts, backup files, and server image files that are used to set up computers (daily for majority of identified servers).
  • Allocating and managing storage space (daily).
  • Performing backups weekly and just prior to all medium risk or higher maintenance events.
  • Load and performance monitoring, to include monitoring all system components to identify potential problem areas and assisting in devising targeted metrics to assess system performance on an ongoing basis (daily).
  • Performing corrective preventive maintenance on local and remote IT servers and network switches during Director of IT approved maintenance periods (1 per month)
  • Providing support for all end user change requirements including all administrative changes on the servers, routing table updates and access control list changes (daily support).
  • Providing services (including access control services) to allow the user to store and retrieve files on shared, controlled access storage media (daily).
  • Creation, deletion, modification, maintenance, backup, and recovery of Structured Query Language (SQL) databases (2x per month under the approval of the Director of IT operations).
  • Upgrading existing server programs, applications, and operating systems approved for installation (quarterly or by direction from DOD derived taskings).
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possess a bachelor's degree.
  • Current IAT level 2 certification
  • 3 years of Experience
  • Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time. Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to work varying work schedules and/or extended hours to meet business needs and project deadlines.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.

Pay Range

USD $85,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
