Job Duration: 12-18 Months contract (Long-Term)

Job Description:
Data Strategy/Data Modeling

Interview process: one or two Webex interviews

Hybrid: onsite 3 days a week

Top 3 Skills:

  1. 7+ years Data Modeling (Relational/Dimensional)
  2. SQL Proficiency
  3. Database design

Characteristics of a top performer: Analytical mindset; Proven ability to present and describe data models from junior to senior people. Detail oriented; Excellent communication skills.

Deal Break Items: Limited background in data modeling

Other required Skills:

8+ years of hands-on experience in architecture, design or development of enterprise data solutions, applications, and integrations

Knowledge of data architecture and design patterns and the ability to apply them

Hands-on experience with modern enterprise data architectures and data toolsets (ex: data warehouse, data marts, data lake, graph modeling, modeling tools (Erwin), profiling tools)

Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate with multiple teams, both technology and business executives

In-depth understanding of structured and unstructured data principles

Good knowledge in various ETL tools and data sanitization

Proven analytical skills

Prior experience with database systems (e.g., GraphQL, SQL, NoSQL, PL-SQL etc.)

Preferred Skills:

Scope of work/project details:

Candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining and updating our application data model that supports Global Technology. Attending Agile ceremonies to understand, define, and prioritize upcoming work related to the data model or implementation of the data model in the database. Candidate would closely interact with the data owners and business to understand the data. Candidate should be a self starter who takes initiative to problem solves and learn the data

This work will be closely tied to the GT Data Strategy that is building a unified data model supporting Global Technology as a Line of Business.

Position Summary:

Participates in defining an architectural vision and solution architecture which aligns with the enterprise architecture strategy, technology, and platform choices. Describes the solution intent and the associated operating environment, determines the primary systems/subsystems and their interfaces, defining non-functional requirements and architectural runway to support new epics/features. Ensures the solution is fit for purpose and use by working with stakeholders, vendors/service providers, and evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions. Works across business and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision and evolves it to an emerging backlog. Consults the business to clearly understand the business problems and technology to understand the technology challenges of the solution and finds creative solutions through practical experiments and POCs. Leads rapid shaping of a high-level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements; ensures architecture is flexible and modular and designed to adapt easily. Utilizes the defined best practices, templates, and documentation to create architectural designs; suggests improvements to best practices and templates through practical knowledge. Works with Product Manager/Owner to plan and prioritize technology focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable business epics/features. Clarifies the architecture for the development teams to support implementation and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments. Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (e.g., security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability). Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies and best practices to create innovative solutions

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Hourly Pay Rate Range*: Between $57.00/hr - $60.00/hr

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
