Job Title: Business Automation/AI & LCAP Team Lead
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid - On-site 3 days per week)
Organization: Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA)

About the Role

VITA is seeking a Business Automation/AI & LCAP Team Lead to drive innovation and streamline operations using cutting-edge technologies. This leadership role involves overseeing a team responsible for Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Enterprise Content Management (ECM), and Adobe Creative solutions, including Adobe Sign.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in automation and AI within a cloud environment, with a strong understanding of Box, RPA, Azure Cloud, AI, Active Directory, ServiceNow, scripting, Microsoft Power Automate, and Adobe Sign. The role requires acting as a technical escalation point for the team, participating in leadership meetings, engaging with stakeholders, and providing guidance to developers and admins. The individual will also coordinate monthly Communities of Practice, conduct agency outreach and research, and serve as the administrator for the Commonwealth s enterprise Adobe management platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions using Box, RPA, Azure Cloud, AI, and Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Administer the Commonwealth s Adobe Management Platform, including Adobe Sign.
  • Develop Adobe Sign Automations using Power Automate.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to automation and AI engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and optimize business processes.
  • Oversee the end-to-end automation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of automation solutions.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in Box, RPA, Azure Cloud, AI, and Power Automate.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation and AI processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation and AI systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Automation Tech Lead or in a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in Box, RPA (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism), Azure Cloud, AI, Active Directory, ServiceNow, and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with Adobe Management Portal and Adobe Sign.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is hybrid, requiring at least three days per week on-site at VITA s Richmond, VA office.
