THE ROLE:

AMD's Strategic Silicon Solutions group is responsible for custom silicon for advanced gaming platforms such as XBOX, PlayStation, and Steam Deck. As a Post-Silicon Power and Performance Validation Engineer you will play a critical role in ensuring our custom silicon products meet power and performance targets and are optimized for customer use cases. You will interact with architecture, firmware, driver, and other teams to develop testplans for new product features, execute studies in a lab environment, and analyze data to validate that the product meets specifications.

THE PERSON:

We are looking for an engineer with experience in power or performance attainment of features of CPU, GPU, or APUs. This person should thrive in a matrixed environment spanning multiple countries and time zones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop testplans in collaboration with architects, firmware, and IP-specific engineering teams to ensure products meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Execute power and performance studies to support business development.
  • Validate and tune product features post-silicon.
  • Set up and debug systems under test.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience validating power or performance features of CPUs, GPUs, or APUs.
  • Familiarity with graphics, core, and gaming-focused workloads.
  • Familiarity with the use of data acquisition and thermal equipment.
  • Experience analyzing and presenting data using Power BI, Sigma, or similar.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed, and multi-site technical organization.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
