To be a successful Senior ETL Dev / Data Integration Engineer will embody GBSI's core employee characteristics of being passionate about IT, taking full ownership of your work & having a growth mindset. Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled ETL Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that support our enterprise s data integration needs.
The ideal candidate will leverage modern technologies and tools including JavaScript (.js), Node Red, Apache Spark, Azure Data Services, Kafka, SQL, API development, and Swagger to extract, transform, and load data efficiently.
Play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making by ensuring data quality, reliability, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- ETL Pipeline Development:
- Design, build, and maintain ETL processes to extract data from diverse sources, transform it using business logic, and load it into target data stores.
- Optimize ETL workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Big Data Processing:
- Utilize Apache Spark for processing and transforming large datasets.
- Implement real-time data streaming solutions using Kafka.
Cloud & Data Services:
- Work with Azure Data Services for cloud-based data storage, processing, and management.
- Develop and integrate APIs using JavaScript frameworks, ensuring robust data exchange.
Orchestration & Automation:
- Employ Node Red to create visual workflows and automate data integration tasks.
- Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
API Development & Documentation:
- Develop RESTful APIs and document them using Swagger for clear communication across development teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs seamlessly into existing systems.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor ETL processes, perform troubleshooting, and resolve data issues in a timely manner.
- Implement logging and alerting mechanisms to ensure continuous system reliability.
Documentation & Collaboration:
- Maintain detailed documentation for all data pipelines and integrations.
- Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and software developers in an agile environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong experience with ETL development and data integration best practices.
- Proficient in JavaScript (.js) and modern development frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Node Red for orchestrating data workflows.
- Expertise in Apache Spark for big data processing.
- Solid understanding of Azure Data Services for cloud data management.
- Experience using Kafka for real-time data streaming.
- Advanced SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
- Proven track record in API development and familiarity with Swagger for API documentation.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Additional Qualities/Attributes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with additional cloud platforms and data governance practices.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
- Exposure to modern data security and privacy practices.

Location: Seattle, WA / Dallas TX (Relocate & work in Hybrid mode in one of the location's)
