As a data engineer senior on the Claims IT Data Engineering team, you'll contribute to highly available and scalable solutions that are built on cutting-edge cloud architecture. You'll partner with Data Science and IT teams to support the expansion of an application. You'll also build out the necessary data pipelines to support data science models and enable efficient access to multiple data sources. You'll work with the Data Scientist and Application team to ensure the design is fit for requirements. In this role, you will be encouraged to grow in your career through new challenges, innovation events, and training opportunities. Participation in the on-call support as needed for major incidents and supporting the data science team members. In this highly visible role, you will serve as the technical data expert responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of our cloud data solutions and expanding the data pipeline infrastructure. By staying well-informed of emerging technologies and trends, you'll have the opportunity to present to groups of mixed technical ability to provide direction and make recommendations, even if it means challenging the status quo.

This is a remote position for US based work only. On-call rotation every 8 weeks is required.

Must-have skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study and minimum of two years of work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications.
  • In lieu of degree, minimum of four years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications may be accepted.

Preferred skills
  • Experience working with Snowflake, Python, AWS (S3, EC2), and Unix/Shell scripting
  • Experience with a variety of relational and non-relational databases and data sources including SQL and PL/SQL
  • Experience with a parallel computing tool (e.g. Ray, Prefect, or multiprocessing package)
  • Experience with a performant tabular data manipulation tool (e.g. Pandas, Dask, or Spark)

Compensation
  • $115,000-$124,300/year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
