SAGE Dining Services is seeking an experienced Microsoft Systems Engineer who'll maintain and enhance our hybrid Windows environment, manage strategic backup solutions, oversee robust email infrastructure, automate critical processes, and lead key infrastructure projects. Your contributions will ensure reliability, security, and scalability across all technical operations.

SAGE's home office is in Lutherville, MD, but this position is fully remote. Candidates must live within 50 miles of Baltimore to ensure timely on-site availability when needed. They must also be authorized to work in the United States and will be employees of SAGE. This is not a 1099 position. In addition, the person taking this position must travel to the SAGE Home office each quarter.

Salary Range: $105,000 -$125,000

What you'll do:
- Design, deploy, and support hybrid Microsoft-based infrastructures, including Windows Server (2016+), Active Directory, Exchange Online, Office 365, SQL Server, and SharePoint.
- Lead infrastructure migration projects, such as transitioning our self-managed Proxmox mail relay to Mimecast or Proofpoint SaaS solutions.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery strategies using Veeam to ensure data integrity, compliance, and business continuity.
- Automate routine tasks and optimize system performance through advanced scripting with PowerShell.
- Perform regular system health checks, performance monitoring, and security audits to proactively address vulnerabilities and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with IT and Service Desk teams, providing escalation support, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and driving continuous infrastructure improvements.
What you'll need:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-level Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016 or later).
- Proven expertise managing cloud infrastructures, especially with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM) and hybrid Azure Active Directory environments.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting to automate administration and configuration tasks.
- Strong background implementing and managing enterprise backup solutions (Veeam or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience with email infrastructure management (Exchange Online, Mimecast, Proofpoint).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform) is highly desirable.
- General knowledge of Linux systems is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to collaborate effectively across technical teams and business units.
