Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Remote
Description:
Seeking ahighly motivated and self-directed professional to fill an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer.
Job Responsibilities:
EDI System Support and Maintenance
oMonitor EDI processes and transactions to ensure smooth operation and successful data transfer.
oTroubleshoot and resolve errors in EDI transactions, system interfaces, and integration processes.
oPerform root-cause analysis on recurring issues and suggest process improvements.
Partner and Transaction Management
oCollaborate with trading partners to manage ongoing communication for data exchange.
oEnsure that EDI files (e.g.,834, 837, 277, 835) are correctly processed and address any mapping or format issues.
oAssist in validation of EDI documents.
System Monitoring and Issue Resolution
oMonitor the EDI system's performance, error logs, and audit trails to detect and prevent issues.
oAct as a point of contact for production support tickets related to EDI transactions, following up and documenting
resolutions.
oCoordinate with IT and EDI teams to apply updates and patches, minimizing downtime and disruptions
Data Integrity and Compliance
oEnsure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards (such as ANSI X12).
oMaintain documentation for all EDI processes, procedures, and partner specifications.
oSupport EDI protocols, standards, and best practices.
Process Improvement
oWork with Shared Services to identify opportunities to optimize EDI processes.
oDevelop automation scripts or workflows to streamline transaction processing.
oParticipate in EDI-related projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, or new trading partner integrations.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proficiency with EDI standards (ANSI X12) and file formats (XML, flat files, JSON).
Experience with tools such as AWS, Azure or similar platforms.
Familiarity with scripting languages and SQL for troubleshooting.
Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, and Git
Knowledge of Bash and Python scripting
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience working with software development projects.
Familiarity with information security frameworks and standards
Proven capacity for thinking leadership and a highly creative problem-solver
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
Ability to express technical information clearly at different organizational levels
Familiarity with messaging technologies and concepts
Software life cycle concepts.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and addressing issues
Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives.
Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.
Establishes and recommends changes to policies, which affect subordinate organization(s).
Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Work Hours: May require availability for on-call support during weekends or holidays.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and five (5) years or more experience in
EDI production support or EDI development, preferably with experience in environments with high transaction volume.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and three (3) years or more experience in
EDI production support or EDI development, preferably with experience in environments with high transaction volume.
