Description
SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team to support the Department of Air Force's (DAF) Advanced Battle Management System's (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI), Digital Infrastructure Processing Node (DIPN) Product Line Team. ABMS is the Air Force's latest effort to create a next-generation command and control (C2) system and is a top modernization priority for the DAF. ABMS will be the backbone of a network-centric approach to battle management in partnership with all the services across the Department of Defense. The broader effort known as the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is focused on rapid integration of capabilities and modernizing the decision-making processes for combat operations.
To accomplish the DAF's mission, the government in partnership with the ABMS Consortium will develop a multiple DIPN Products to include the Deployable Digital Infrastructure (DDI) and Fixed Digital Infrastructure (FDI). The DIPN Product Line Team is comprised of industry leaders in systems engineering, digital engineering, model-based systems engineering, cyber security, integration & test and operations and sustainment working together in a collaborative environment to delivery critical capabilities to our warfighters.

The Network Engineer will work within the DIPN Product Line Team to:
- Provide technical expertise to the Infrastructure and Platform Team.
- Drive innovative solutions to deliver results to the warfighters that leverage the latest in DevSecOps resources and scalable cloud and bare metal microservices to support advanced communications, tactical cloud, and secure processing.
- Facilitate technical information exchange on Platform as a Service (PaaS) functions in support of consortium objectives to provide on-demand access to computing resources.
- Decompose and allocate requirements to system functions to design, develop and deploy a capability of monitoring and maintaining an application ecosystem running on PaaS.
- Coordinate with other DIPN Teams to develop and maintain digital system architecture, models, and architecture standards of the ABMS using agile development processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), or related STEM Degree program from an Accredited University, School, and/or College required with 9+ years of relevant work experience.
- Hands on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Kubernetes networks including Leaf/Spin and CNI architectures.
- Experience designing, implementing and supporting identity-based networking including Consul.
- Experience with MANET and other Ad hoc networking technologies.
- Experience and leadership in Infrastructure as Code and Software Defined Networking.
- Broad experience developing automated infrastructure testing of large system deployments using Ansible, Terraform, Dockers, and/or Jenkins (Ansible and Terraform highly preferred).
- Senior level technical consulting experience including experience interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in a highly distributed, collaborative team environment - Must be self-starter.
Desired:
- Knowledge of Enterprise Application development and deployment processes.
- Experience with Leaf/Spine and CNI network technologies.
- Experience with network routing protocols including BGP design & implementation experience.
- RHEL, Rancher Harvester Experience.
