Job Title: Release Train Engineer

Job Description
Client is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to support a large-scale Agile transformation initiative in Washington, DC. The RTE will serve as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART), facilitating program-level processes and execution, driving continuous improvement, and optimizing the flow of value through the ART using various Lean-Agile tools and techniques. This role requires excellent coordination, communication, and coaching skills, along with proven experience guiding teams through PI Planning, execution, and alignment with enterprise strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate PI Planning
- Prepare ART backlog and logistics for Program Increment (PI) planning
- Lead in-person, two-day PI planning events
- Ensure alignment with enterprise strategy and OKRs
- Support PI Execution
- Track ART flow metrics: velocity, cycle time, predictability, etc.
- Facilitate key ART syncs (Coach Sync, PO Sync, I&A, System Demos, etc.)
- Promote DevOps and continuous delivery practices
- Support backlog refinement and coordinate with other ARTs
- Help Business Owners understand their role and define business value
- Coach the ART
- Guide Scrum Masters, Product Managers, Architects, and Business Owners
- Use powerful questions to foster team self-discovery and improvement
- Lead ART and team events in alignment with Safe principles
- Optimize Flow
- Establish pull systems and flow metrics
- Facilitate value stream mapping and remove cross-team dependencies
- Continuously improve flow of value
- Drive Relentless Improvement
- Lead TeamHealth assessments and I&A events
- Promote built-in quality and collaborate with Lean-Agile transformation teams
- Act as a Servant Leader
- Foster a culture of openness, empathy, and shared leadership
- Empower teams in decision-making and problem-solving
- Represent the ART and deliver effective presentations to large audiences
Required Certifications:
- Safe Release Train Engineer 6.0
- Scaled Agile Practice Consultant 6.0
- Agility Insights Facilitator Certification
