Responsibilities

  • A Senior Systems Engineer provides technical support in system architecture, system design, system integration and technical management.
  • Assists in providing technical input to the systems engineering process. Leads teams in developing application and technical plans.
  • Guide customers in the installation and use of strategic products through education and guidance, first-use and tuning assistance problem solving and critical situation resolution.
  • Systematically build and maintain all components of product upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
  • Creating Database Schemas, Testing, and Deployment processes in a controlled manner via a repeatable process.
  • Activities include design and implementation of formal procedures, including checks and balances throughout the process. The Contractor shall identify and mitigate risks during operations and deployments to ensure the integrity and recoverability of the production environment.
  • Ensure product and systems are operational readiness while providing SME recommendation for the go/no go decision. The Contractor shall ensure that an approved plan is in-place with assigned ownership and schedule to resolve noncompliance issues.
  • Provide planning, coordination, and communication ensuring the successful deployment of software, and infrastructure changes
  • Provides technical support in system architecture, system design, system integration and technical management.
  • Systematically build and maintain all components of product upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
  • Manages ServiceNow, Jira and GITHUB tool as documentation for assigned applications.
  • Leads Team for Monthly CRISP OS Patching
  • Create incidents for each environment and assign to System Administrators
  • Create patching calendar invites
  • Leads Team for Quarterly WebLogic and Database Patching
  • Evaluate Weblogic and database patching requirements, open change requests as necessary and assign them to Weblogic and database administrators. Coordinate timing of patching.
  • Leads Team for Quarterly database account reviews
  • Open incident assign to database administrator to remove stale accounts
  • Report findings to ISSO, ISO, Product Manager, and System Steward.
  • TOAD and run it against a database
  • Set up CRON Jobs within Linux
  • Not a DBA, but must know their way around Oracle DB
  • Run scripts against the DB

Qualifications

  • Required High knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, Cloud technologies, Application Performance Monitoring, JIRA, GITHUB, ServiceNow, and associated utility programs, Oracle and SQL Database usage, and general datacenter infrastructure including cloud and virtual hosting services, server technology.
  • Familiar with GitHub Development Platform or similar software collaboration and code repository tools, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, DevSecOps methodology, Automated Scheduling, Electronic File Transfers, backup methodologies, and disaster recovery.
  • Must be fluent in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms (some knowledge helpful but not necessary), TOAD, Java, PHP, XML, and shell scripting.
  • Not a DBA, but must know their way around Oracle DB

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent PLUS 10 Years of experience
  • Ten (10) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
