I. Job Summary

Directs the efforts of the Data Platform Operations team for the Data Services Organization. Responsible for 24/7 support operations, platform management, application quality and support. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of our data services. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based solutions, with a strong focus on AWS and Snowflake services.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by department.


  • Data Services: Ensure the security, governance, maintenance, timeliness, and accuracy of all platforms enabling our enterprise data products

    • Manage ITSM incidents, focus on continuous improvements, automation, and Incident reduction

    • Manage changes to our environment, downtime, and stakeholder alignment and communication


  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure on AWS and Snowflake. Support for other SaaS technologies in the data integration and data governance space (DBT, Atlan, etc.)

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the data services delivery verticals, including data engineers, developers, and business analysts, to enable data-driven initiatives

  • Leadership: Acts as a team leader or project manager and/or establishes and communicates common goals and direction for the team.

    • Evaluates status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness.

    • May coordinate with other managers to integrate project with applications and/or initiatives.

    • Coordinates and oversees career development, performance management, pay determination and team communication.


  • FinOps: Optimize cloud infrastructure costs while maintaining performance and reliability.

  • Vendor Management:

    • Oversee Third-Party Supplier Support Teams: Effectively manage and coordinate third-party supplier support teams to ensure seamless integration and collaboration with internal teams. This includes budgeting, resource allocation, monitoring performance, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), and fostering strong communication channels to maintain high standards of service delivery.

    • Oversee Software & SasS License Agreements: Manage a portfolio of software products. Plan for renewals, modernizations, upgrades, and adherence to planned spend.




III. Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is management of supervisory employees. This includes:


  • Direct supervision of full-time employees including team leads and individual contributors.

  • Direct supervision of contractors and offshore resources as needed.



IV. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.

Experience: Six (6) years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

Preferred Experience:

Seven (7) years of experience in Data Integration and Data Management teams;

Three (3) years working with Cloud Data Integration technologies such as Matillion, Informatica Cloud Integration, etc.

Five (5) Years Running ETL & Data Warehouse support teams

Five (5) years Leading Continuous improvement in Complex Enterprise Data Environments

May require in depth skills in one or more of the following: Data Governance, ITSM, Data Integration, Database Management, Snowflake, ETL, ELT, Matillion, SQL, Data Modeling
