Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Scrum Master to join their Medicare Products & Benefits team within the insurance sector. This individual will join a collaborative team of other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, and Agile Coaches in order to play a pivotal role in advancing Agile practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe methodologies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive change agent, deeply knowledgeable in Agile practices, IT development, and experienced in coaching Agile teams towards greater maturity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support development teams, guiding them to effectively implement and improve Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) across the organization.
- Act as a Scrum Master for 2-3 Agile teams, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Guide Agile teams in increasing their Agile/SAFe maturity, adapting to each team s unique needs and challenges within the IT development process.
- Actively promote Agile best practices, creating an atmosphere where teams are empowered to innovate and strive for consistent, high-quality results.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align Agile practices with business goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to product and benefit development.
- Support Agile Release Trains (ART) where applicable, preparing teams for future roles in Release Train Engineering (RTE) and Agile Coaching.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong Knowledge of Agile Frameworks: Expertise in Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe with the ability to lead and coach teams to higher levels of Agile maturity.
- IT Development Process: Solid understanding of the IT development lifecycle, from conception through to release, with the capability to enhance team efficiency and product delivery.
- Change Agent: Able to identify areas for improvement, initiate change, and coach teams to embrace Agile principles autonomously.
- Coaching & Problem-Solving: Adept in identifying and resolving blockers, facilitating team progress, and promoting proactive problem-solving approaches.
- Breadth of Experience: Diverse background in project management (PM), business analysis (BA), or development roles preferred, contributing to well-rounded insights and guidance.
- Preferred Tools: Experience with Agile tools like Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jira is helpful but not required.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in Medicare, insurance, or healthcare-related product development.
- Experience working in remote or distributed Agile teams, with a strong preference for local candidates who can work on-site in Louisville, KY.
