Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

The Agile Team Manager is responsible for leading a team of Agile Coaches in an LFI (Large Financial Institution) environment. This role is pivotal in driving agile transformation and ensuring that teams across the organization are equipped with the necessary coaching, tools, and methodologies to optimize their performance and deliver business value. The Manager will serve as a mentor, facilitator, and leader to the Agile Coaching Team, ensuring alignment with the broader business strategy, guiding principles, and agile principles.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Agile Coaches, providing them with guidance, support, and feedback to enhance their coaching abilities. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
  • Agile Strategy & Execution: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to define, implement, and refine the organization's agile transformation strategy. Ensure the alignment of agile practices with business objectives and regulatory requirements in the financial sector.
  • Coaching Excellence: Ensure that agile coaches are effectively enabling teams across the organization to adopt agile methodologies, frameworks (such as Scrum, Kanban, or Scrum@scale), and practices that suit their specific needs. Measure the impact of coaching efforts through performance metrics and agile maturity assessments.
  • Stakeholder Management: act as the liaison between agile coaches and other departments fostering strong relationship and ensuring that agile practices are integrated across teams.
  • Process Optimization & Innovation: Continuously identify opportunities to improve agile processes, tools, and ceremonies within teams, driving greater efficiency, collaboration, and alignment with the company's goals.
  • Change Management: Oversee the agile transformation initiatives by supporting change management efforts, training, and education of teams in agile practices. Address resistance and guide teams through the cultural shift towards agile methodologies.
  • Risk & Compliance Awareness: Ensure that agile practices within the financial institution adhere to relevant regulations, governance standards, and risk management frameworks. Ensure coaches are mindful of compliance requirements in agile execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Applications development, applications analysis or systems engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Applications development, applications analysis or systems engineering

Skills
  • Strong understanding of agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, scrum@scale, and Lean methodologies
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience with agile tools (e.g. Jira, confluence) and performance metrics

Relevant Certifications: Certified Agile Coach, PMP, Scrum@Scale Practitioner, SAFe program consultant are Preferred

If hired in North Carolina, the base pay for this position is generally between $111,000 and $170,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
