Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst to join a major healthcare company in California, in a 100% remote capacity. This is a long term contract opportunity, with the possibility of extension. The Cybersecurity Analyst will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's sensitive data and systems, ensuring compliance with critical healthcare regulations, while identifying and mitigating security threats.

Responsibilities of the Cybersecurity Analyst include:
- Manage and maintain security infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring systems to protect sensitive data and systems.
- Continuously monitor the network for vulnerabilities, conduct regular security scans, and identify potential threats or weaknesses.
- Design and implement robust cybersecurity strategies to safeguard data and maintain compliance with industry regulations (HIPAA, NIST, etc.).
- Respond to security incidents, investigate breaches, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications of the Cybersecurity Analyst include:
- 4+ years of experience in a Cybersecurity Analyst role or similar.
- 2+ years of experience working within healthcare security regulations, specifically HIPAA and other compliance frameworks like NIST or CIS.
- Proven track record of risk assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing, including hands-on experience with tools like Nessus, Qualys, Metasploit, or Burp Suite.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange for user management, security policies, and secure communications.
- Familiarity with cloud security platforms (e.g., Azure Security Center, AWS GuardDuty) and managing security for cloud-based environments.
- Strong experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet) and VPN solutions (IPsec, SSL VPN, Cisco AnyConnect).
- Proficient in using network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, Splunk) and intrusion detection/prevention systems (Snort, Suricata).
Compensation for the Cybersecurity Analyst includes:
- Hourly Rate : $55-60 an hour, depending on experience.
