Mythics is seeking an Oracle Cloud Engineer to work in our Mythics Managed Services Team, delivering managed services to our growing Cloud customer base. These managed services are core to our business and delivery activities. This is an intricate role where you will use Oracle Cloud technologies and automation. You will provide hands-on technical support, including incident management, incident analysis, incident resolution, monitoring customer alerts, system & product maintenance, and patching. You will work as a collaborative member of the Mythics Managed Services Operational Support team responsible for providing 24x7x365 support to various clients across the country. These services will be delivered with a ticketing-based workflow. Ticket management is also an important responsibility in this role. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to come in and work with a skilled team and attain knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure technologies.

Job Responsibilities

  • As a Mythics Managed Services team member, you will support Oracle product patching and operating system patching.
  • Support Oracle database backups and filesystem backups.
  • Support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure networking configuration.
  • Support OCI products such as autonomous database, DB Systems, Exadata Cloud Service, and Exadata Cloud at customer and compute instances.
  • Configure monitoring and define alarms and thresholds in OCI using Oracle products (DB Management, Stack Monitoring, Oracle Enterprise Manager)
  • Manage user access to OCI.
  • Support Oracle product upgrades and operating system upgrades.
  • Provide on-call, and support 24 x 7 operations.

Qualifications
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science with 8-10 years industry experience and/or equivalent. work experience. (Experience can be CO-OP or other curriculum work.)
  • 5 years or more of experience with Oracle products (Database, Weblogic, ODI, OAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager and Engineered Systems), Cloud (OCI, AWS or any other).
  • Prior experience interfacing directly with clients to perform ad-hoc troubleshooting or provide guidance as a designated SME.
  • Experience with Ansible or Terraform scripting is preferred
  • Ability to provide day-to-day operational support in an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environment
  • Experience using a ticket-based service delivery system
  • Experience with ITIL-based processes and the ability to respond quickly to high-priority incidents

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of system infrastructure scripting for both cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Ability to self-manage assigned tasks and work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze and fix problems quickly.
