Job Description
***Only qualified Database Administrator candidates located near the Austin, TX area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***

Requirements:
6 years of experience in Oracle database design, analysis, and performance tuning.
6 years of experience in Oracle database structures, data analysis, and performance tuning.
6 years of experience designing enterprise applications and/or services.
6 years of experience creating technical and functional design documentation.
6 years of experience within software development Life Cycle using Agile methodology (e.g., Scrum).
6 years of experience with multi-tier system/application development (e.g., SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications).

Preferred Qualifications:
4 years of experience with data warehouse applications and/or database reporting features.
1 year of experience with Jira.
Oracle Certification.

Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of computer programming and systems design principles, practices, and techniques.
Familiarity with computer operations, systems, and procedures.
Proficiency in project control and cost estimating techniques.
Understanding of computer programming languages, data processing flowcharting techniques, database structures and theories, and current database technologies.
Working knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies.

On-Call Support:
Participation in on-call support for critical application databases.

Summary:
The Database Administrator will be responsible for creating and maintaining production databases, monitoring database performance, and directing programmers and analysts to make necessary changes to the database management system. This role involves performance tuning, data modeling, and ensuring data integrity and security. The candidate will provide on-call and operational support for critical application databases, collaborate with the Data Warehouse team, and optimize Oracle database performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Enter codes to create and maintain production databases.
Select and enter utility program codes to monitor database performance.
Direct programmers and analysts to modify the database management system.
Review and correct programs, answer user questions, and confer with coworkers.
Modify database programs to enhance processing performance (performance tuning).
Assist in planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems.
Evaluate user requests for new data elements and systems, incorporating them into the existing shared data environment.
Coordinate the use of data to ensure integrity and control redundancy.
Perform data modeling, prototyping, and logical and physical data modeling.
Design relational database models and create physical data models from logical data models.
Perform security recovery procedures and implement database search strategies and storage requirements.
Maintain data dictionary and set standards for its use.
Monitor database performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
Create test database environments, including necessary libraries and procedures.
Execute procedures to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures.
Assist with database security standards and disaster recovery procedures.
Install database software and analyze, design, and implement databases.
Benchmark and threshold test databases, establish and control database security.
Select database management software.
Ensure user interfaces for database administration comply with EIR Accessibility standards.
Provide support to users regarding EIR Accessibility issues.
