Description

SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer's for its customers Team! This is a role heavily focused on solving complex challenges in multiple classified cloud environments with a high-performing team of collaborative professionals. This position is responsible for responsive and coherent planning, development, and delivery assessment of systems and networks within the environments to identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.

The Software Development team is responsible for providing not only working the customers product life cycle, but as well, any proprietary systems in use to support the customers' mission. We are looking for talent primarily in Vandenberg, California, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and El Segundo, California for hybrid work situation.

This work supports the USSF Operational C2 Mission under Kobayashi Maru. USSF has multiple cloud environments in an existing global, interconnected, disparate, virtualized, hybrid, and Enterprise IT infrastructure hosting mission systems, applications, services, and data that serves the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and other Government Customers. OSC2 LOE1 facilitates the Government's efforts to operate and maintain current environments, while assisting with the migration of applications to multiple cloud environments, allowing for increased efficiencies across the entire spectrum of the USSF operations.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that support USSF operations and mission objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with technical and business goals.
  • Implement software solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Conduct software validation and verification, performing debugging and troubleshooting to resolve issues effectively.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for software design, architecture, and user guides.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high-quality code output.
  • Assist in the integration of software components and third-party programs.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for code development and code deployment for the software version releases which modifies the software baseline of the BMEWS/PAVE PAWS ground-based radar sensors.
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software.
  • Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
  • Ability to support system integration, test, development, and execution of various types of complex systems.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Participate in troubleshooting systems to resolve complex issues, interact, and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining operational and test systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Minimum of 3-15 years of experience in software development, with a focus on full-stack or embedded systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices
  • Experience with version control systems like Git

Required Certifications:
  • Security+ Certification or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with developing on cloud platforms such as Google Cloud or OCI
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience working with defense or aerospace applications is beneficial
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
  • Experience as a Scrum Master and Product Owner

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
