We are seeking an accomplished Senior Q uality Assurance Engineer to join our team in the testing and verification of the software that drives the content collection and curation efforts across our organization (Homes.com, Costar.com, Apartments.com, LoopNet.com). QA Engineers are responsible for writing test cases that ensure compliance with acceptance criteria developed during sprint planning, ensuring adequate product testing prior to each release, and tracking bugs and retesting as bugs are fixed.

This position is located in our Richmond, VA office and offers a schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that products conform to business requirements/company policies, software quality standards, and established procedures
  • Confirms that testable systems are specified, designed and implemented
  • Designs, documents and implements procedures and techniques that are consistent with departmental SQA Methodology for analyzing, testing, and evaluating the risk (software & business), accuracy, completeness, internal integrity/consistency, testability and overall quality of business systems and SDLC processes
  • Creates and maintains SQA deliverables including test plans, test cases, test data, project test progress and release reports, application turnover documents and test schedules
  • Recommends and assists in corrective actions taken at all stages of product life cycle
  • Submits and tracks production (maintenance) and release issues in their respective systems
  • Develops functional automated tests and curates automated regression test suites


Basic Qualifications

  • B achelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field , from an accredited, not for profit university or college
  • 5+ years industry experience as a software quality assurance test engineer
  • 5+ years of experience with functional testing either manually or via automation tools
  • Hands on experience in automation and good understanding of automation testing strategies and tools
  • Hands on experience designing , developing , implementing functional automated tests using an ATDD style approach using tools such as Playwright /Gherkin/Cucumber
  • Comfortable writing software to implement functional automated tests using well known design patterns
  • A basic understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals
  • Knowledgeable testing API s and familiar with tools such as Postman
  • An understanding of quality assurance test ing methodologies, deliverables, processes, strategies, metrics, techniques and the software development life cycle (SDLC) is critical
  • Experience creating functional/integration API layer tests
  • Experience creating and delivery automated test in an Agile environment
  • Experience testing mission-critical relational database applications, and web-based enterprise systems
  • Experience reporting, regressing and reproducing software problems.
  • Experience with testing/debugging tools including Chrome Debugger, Postman, Fiddler, Kibana
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases with relational databases (administration and T-SQL)
  • Track record of commitment to prior employers


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners)
  • Experience designing and implementing automated tests using: Playwright , CucumberJS , Selenium, Gherkin , and/or Cyoress
  • Experience creating functional auto ma ted tests in an Agile environment
  • Experience with writing T-SQL queries and/or MongoDB queries
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio , Visual Studio Code and TFS.
  • Capacity to effectively interface with dynamic development teams
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and be proactive
