Release Train Engineer (RTE)
12+Month Contract

As a Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will serve as the servant leader and coach for multiple agile teams within a release train. Your role is to facilitate ART processes, ensure the delivery of value through continuous improvement, and align the work of the teams with the overall program objectives. You will work closely with product management, system architects, and other key stakeholders to ensure the success of the ART and maintain alignment with business goals.

<>Key Responsibilities:</>
  • Facilitation and Coordination:

    • Facilitate ART ceremonies including PI Planning, ART sync meetings, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt (I&A) sessions.
    • Support team alignment, coordination, and communication across multiple teams to ensure the smooth flow of work.
    • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders within and outside the ART.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the ART, helping teams to improve their processes and productivity.
    • Ensure that Agile best practices are followed and that the teams are effectively applying SAFe principles.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Collaborate with Product Management, Business Owners, and other leaders to ensure alignment on priorities and work progress.
    • Resolve any obstacles or dependencies between teams, escalating issues as needed.
    • Help stakeholders understand the ART processes and progress.
  • Performance Monitoring:

    • Track and report on ART metrics, including velocity, lead time, and other performance indicators.
    • Ensure that teams meet their commitments and deliverables while maintaining high quality.
  • Coaching and Mentorship:

    • Provide coaching and mentoring to Scrum Masters and team members to improve their agile skills and practices.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating agile leadership and supporting a culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust.
  • Risk and Issue Management:

    • Identify and mitigate risks that could impact the ART's ability to deliver on time.
    • Act as a problem solver for the ART, working closely with teams to remove blockers.
  • Release Management:

    • Work with teams to ensure that releases are delivered successfully, meeting quality and schedule requirements.
    • Support the ART s delivery pipeline, ensuring smooth and predictable release cycles.
<>Required Skills and Qualifications:</>
  • Experience:

    • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, with at least 3-5 years of experience working in an Agile environment.
    • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in a SAFe environment.
    • Strong knowledge of SAFe principles and practices, including PI planning and Agile Release Trains.
  • Certifications:

    • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification preferred.
    • Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
    • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and manage complex relationships.
    • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
    • Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Rally, VersionOne).
  • Education:

    • A bachelor s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) is preferred, though relevant experience can compensate for education.
