Job Title: Scrum Master
Location: Chicago, IL Hybrid (Tuesday Thursday onsite)
Normal Hours: 8:30am - 5pm CST
Interview Process: 2-3 rounds

Position Overview: As an Agile Manager/Scrum Master, you will play a critical role in driving agility within the organization. Leveraging your deep understanding of Agile principles and modern software product development processes, you will shape how we work, learn, and innovate. You will guide teams and stakeholders to continuously evolve the product development process, reduce waste, improve efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Agile Manager, Scrum Master, or similar role in a software development environment.
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps (ADO), or similar platforms.
- Strong facilitation skills to conduct various Agile ceremonies effectively.
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and dashboards for stakeholders at various levels.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and removing organizational impediments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and stakeholders.
- A track record of fostering a culture of learning and driving continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience
- Certification in Agile frameworks such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe Agilist.
- Experience in scaling Agile practices across large organizations or multiple teams.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and experience in escalating critical issues effectively.
- Financial Services experience.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Agile Framework Expertise: Apply expertise in Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile methodologies to optimize team performance and delivery. Use Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps (ADO), etc., to support collaboration and project tracking.
- Facilitating Agile Ceremonies: Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Grooming/Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Daily Standups, Weekly Standups, Scrum of Scrums, Program Leadership Connects, and Steering Committee Meetings.
- Metrics and Reporting: Prepare and present weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports to track progress, identify risks, and inform stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Partner with Business Managers and Business Technology Directors to align product areas with business objectives. Facilitate coordination and collaboration across product families to maximize workflow efficiency.
- Optimization and Risk Management: Optimize the flow of work from ideation to delivery across multiple business units. Actively manage and escalate risks and customer-impacting issues to management. Identify and remove systemic impediments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects.
- Community Building and Culture Shaping: Build and foster strong communities within and across teams. Promote a culture of continuous learning and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Leadership and Coaching: Coach and mentor teams to achieve high performance, fostering self-organization and accountability. Guide teams on Agile best practices and ensure adherence to agreed processes and standards.
