Designs and develops engaging, effective user experiences for a digital product or product type in order to drive customer adoption. Identifies requirements and enhances usability and aesthetic appeal of digital experience through the design of interactive flows, sketches, story boards, wireframes, motion studies, mock-ups and prototypes. Stays informed on technology and research on customer preferences, identifying opportunities to apply new technologies to enhance the digital experience. As an Associate UX Designer, you will work closely with various studio disciplines, design leadership, principal designers, strategists, product and business stakeholders to create compelling UI/UX designs for various features and experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Take direction from senior designers, and create high quality experiences, deliverables such as flows, wire frames, story boards, interactive prototypes, etc.
  • Review and QA experiences to ensure they are built as designed
  • Comfort in ambiguity and changing user needs
  • Effectively communicates (plans, approach & progress/status of designs and design ideas)
  • In collaboration with other designers and stakeholders, contribute to the design vision
  • Demonstrates curiosity and growth mindset contributing to a product design environment that supports continuous learning and innovation
  • Leverages best practice design principles and trends to contribute with insights and stellar user experiences
  • Be a trusted design partner in a cross functional team (designers, engineers, product, researchers etc.), delivery designs on time and to the highest quality
  • Collaborate and contribute reusable design components in partnership with Design System team

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of hands on experience with information architecture, interaction design, UX design or graphic design
  • 1+ years of incorporating user feedback in the design process (user research, NPS, Voice of the customer)
  • 1+ years of experience with prominent industry design tools (Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Axure)
  • 1+ years of experience building and/or utilizing personas to inform design decisions
  • 1+ years of experience working in cross functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • UX program graduate
  • 1+ years of experience presenting to stakeholders

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
